CeDInt’s own “Energy Efficiency and Smart Building” European Doctoral Program is planned to be available in the 2011-2012 or in the 2012-2013 academic year as a function of pending regulations at UPM.
This PhD core program comprises the following areas: “Energy Efficiency and Smart Grids” and “Smart Buildings” in accordance with CeDInt main Research Areas. Subsequent specialization in Optics, Domotics and Virtual Reality will be available.
The PhD program will comprise an Educational and a Research phase:
- The Educational Phase (60 ECTs given in English) includes lectures and courses, orientation seminars, the preparation of the individually designed research and educational program and the elaboration of a final Report (15 ECTs).
- This same Phase will provide a Master Program in “Energy Efficiency” for those students not interested in additional research.
- The Research phase consists of active research in close collaboration with a chosen supervisor, with regular presentations and seminar contributions, culminating in the defense of a thesis.
